New tech, big investments announced at Hancock County chamber meeting
SUMMARY: A new production facility is set to open in Pascagoula, Louisiana, after being vacant for 10 years. The facility, which is 1,000 square feet, will be owned by Seven Point Energy and will create 78 jobs over the next five years. Blaine Lafontaine, CEO of the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, expressed excitement about the investment, stating that it aligns with the current industry clusters in the area. The facility will be leased to Skydweller Aero Inc, an aerospace technology company based in Oklahoma City.
Big tech and cutting-edge aerospace technology are among the announcements made during the Hancock Chamber's mid-year meeting at the Hollywood Casino.

Captain Pete Skrmetta dies at 94
SUMMARY: Captain Pete Sketa, the long-serving captain of the Ship Island ferry, passed away on Father's Day at the age of 94.
