Gov. Reeves signs bill making license plates cheaper for disabled veterans

Governor Tate Reeves has signed a bill into law aiming to disabled save money on license plates and car tags.

Senate Bill 2187, authored by Senator Joseph Seymour, R-Vancleave, revises disability rating requirements for certain motor vehicle and motorcycle license plates and tags authorized for disabled veterans.

The bill expands the number of disabled veterans who are eligible to purchase two motor vehicle license plates or tags for just $1 each.

“Any time the of Mississippi can help our disabled veterans save money – that's a worthy cause,” Governor Tate Reeves said. “Our disabled veterans sacrificed their own to keep us safe. The least we can do is lower fees the charges them. I was really to sign this bill because it means more money in the pockets of our disabled veterans. I'll continue to do everything I can to our service members.”

Former Mississippi school financial secretary pleads guilty to embezzlement
