70,000 plus people expected to attend Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade in Jackson
SUMMARY: Mississippi’s largest Irish event, Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival, is expected to attract over 70,000 people in downtown Jackson this weekend, after celebrating preliminary events last week. Marking its 41st year, the parade’s theme is “Telling the Mississippi Story” with Walt Grayson as Grand Marshal. Proceeds will assist Children’s of Mississippi. Malcolm White, the founder, highlights the significant economic impact of this event, including an estimated $10 million for the local economy. The festival includes a crawfish boil on March 22 and continues with the main parade and children’s festival on March 23.

Delta State officials counter rumors as investigation continues into Black student found hanging
SUMMARY: Delta State University and law enforcement held a press conference regarding the death of 21-year-old Demartravion “Trey” Reed, found hanging on campus.
