25 Teams in 25 Days: East Central Hornets
SUMMARY: East Central High School football, under fourth-year coach Sam Huff, is focused on effort, attitude, and toughness as it rebuilds after a 2-8 2024 season. Despite losing many seniors, the 2025 Hornets return seven key players on defense and offense, with defense expected to be a strong point. Offensively, there’s increased passing and competition at quarterback between Kash Litton and Maddox Dunn. The team has shown strong summer work ethic, with 47% exceeding workout requirements, highlighted by senior Jeffery Jackson winning the “Baddest Hornet” title again. Justice Department will meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s imprisoned girlfriend
SUMMARY: Justice Department officials planned a meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s imprisoned former girlfriend, as part of efforts to demonstrate transparency amid criticism for withholding Epstein investigation records. Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Epstein’s sexual abuse of minors, may provide information about other crimes. The House Committee on Oversight subpoenaed her to testify in August. Despite demands, the Justice Department said no Epstein client list exists and refused further file releases. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial. Congressional leaders and lawmakers signal potential hearings and legislation to increase public access to related documents.
