2 teens arrested for trying to carjack Hinds County reserve deputy
SUMMARY: Two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, were arrested for attempting to carjack a reserve deputy in Hinds County at a gas station. The incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, involved gunfire exchanged between the suspects and the deputy, resulting in a bystander being injured by a stray bullet and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects had arrived in a stolen Kia SUV, and one attempted to enter the deputy’s vehicle. Following the incident, the suspects fled but returned to shoot at the deputy again. Warrants have been issued for two other individuals involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
