18-wheeler crash slows traffic on I-20

SUMMARY: An 18-wheeler accident involving at least 118 trucks is being monitored at I-20 and Gallatin Street, with efforts underway to tow the vehicles. Additionally, flooding has led to the closure of Highway 80 at Gould Road in Rankin County in both directions. Over 11,000 customers are without power due to outages, primarily in Hinds County, where over 5,000 are affected, particularly in Byram. Madison County reports over 1,600 outages, while Rankin County has around 800. The situation is evolving as teams are sent to assess the flooding and power issues in the metro area.
