It recorded a low pressure of 897 millibars, making it the strongest Gulf hurricane for this time of year. Expected to maintain major hurricane status, it is forecasted to impact the western coast of Florida with life-threatening storm surges of 10-15 feet. Cooler temperatures are arriving locally with lows in the low 50s expected, as a cold front has moved through. However, rain is unlikely, and drought conditions may re-emerge as the week progresses. The next ten days promise pleasant outdoor weather.
