SUMMARY: Workers enduring the intense summer heat, especially those in construction and home restoration, report challenging conditions due to high temperatures and humidity. Michael Bell, a construction worker, emphasizes the necessity of working through the heat to support his family, despite the discomfort. Hal Wiggam, Servpro Assistant Branch Manager, highlights the added complications heat brings to job tasks and stresses the importance of frequent breaks in shaded areas or cool spots. Workers rely on hydration beyond water, such as electrolyte drinks like Liquid IV, and avoid caffeine and soda to prevent overheating during long, 10-hour workdays.

People working outside say that this summer has been one for the books with the heat.
