SUMMARY: Former and current CDC staff, along with public health advocates, protested outside CDC headquarters following the recent departures of three high-ranking officials and the firing of CDC Director Susan, who had served less than a month. The officials resigned after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the President deemed her unfit. Protesters held a “clap out” in tribute, expressing concerns the CDC is being politicized, compromising their commitment to science and public safety. Kennedy criticized the CDC’s handling of COVID-19 and its priorities, calling for strong leadership to restore the agency’s reputation and science-based mission.
