www.youtube.com – WLKY News Louisville – 2025-07-21 20:38:02

SUMMARY: The toll bridges connecting Kentucky and Indiana—the Lincoln, Kennedy, and Lewis and Clark Bridges—will continue collecting tolls until their $2.3 billion project is paid off, currently estimated by 2053. Since tolling began in 2016, over $960 million has been collected, with Kentucky still owing $1 billion. Tolling is compared to a 40-year mortgage, with about a decade paid and decades remaining, including interest and maintenance costs. Tolls increase yearly on July 1. Future policymakers will decide whether to continue or remove tolls after payoff. Outstanding toll fees may lead to vehicle registration holds soon.

Late week, scattered showers and storms return with another boundary, along with continued hot temperatures in the low 90s. Outdoor caution is advised during peak heat.
