Isaac Smith always had a clear picture of his career at Itawamba AHS. Smith discussed it with Itawamba coach Clint Hoots before his freshman season, a conversation the seven-year coach couldn’t forget.
One of Smith’s goals was to follow in the footsteps of Ashton Shumpert – Itawamba’s lone Gatorade Player of the Year winner at the time – and have their banners hanging side-by-side on campus.
This is before Smith led Itawamba to a 43-8 record and three district championships, while developing into a four-star safety and signing with Mississippi State.
