What would a dock worker strike mean for Port Houston?
SUMMARY: A potential strike by dockworkers at 14 ports, from Brownsville to Maine, could begin tonight, affecting half of all U.S. container goods. The Longshoremen’s Union demands a 77% wage increase over six years and a ban on automation. Experts warn that a strike could cost the U.S. economy $5 billion daily, with delays in cargo clearance lasting four to six days for each day of inaction. While goods like food and apparel may be impacted, there’s no immediate need for panic buying. Plans are in place to extend port gate hours if operations resume after a strike.
A potential strike could cost the United States $5 billion each day.

Blind Missouri man scammed looking for emotional support dog
SUMMARY: Johnny Turnage, who lost his eyesight and mother in the same year, sought an emotional support puppy through a Craigslist ad for an eight-week-old teacup Yorkie named Clover. After paying over $500 in deposits and fees to a seller who repeatedly failed to deliver the puppy or meet as promised, Turnage realized he was scammed. The American Kennel Club confirmed the seller was not registered, and experts warn that excessive fees and low prices are common red flags. The Better Business Bureau advises seeing pets in person and verifying listings. Johnny’s brother started a GoFundMe to help him get a legitimate support dog.

Trump names George Strait, Sylvester Stallone and Kiss for Kennedy Center Honors
