SUMMARY: Nashville high schooler Reagan Harkins completed his goal of riding every WeGo bus route in Davidson County just before graduation. Starting as a sophomore, Reagan created a “bus-ket list” to explore the city by bus, gaining new insights into Nashville’s layout and recent developments. For his final route, he was joined by Mayor Freddie O’Connell, a transit advocate who has pushed for a transit tax to improve the system. Though Reagan’s full challenge isn’t over—he plans to ride regional routes this summer—this project has been a meaningful way to say goodbye to the city before attending Cornell University.

www.youtube.com – FOX13 Memphis – 2025-05-17 10:13:35

SUMMARY: Memphis averages more than one hit-and-run crash every hour this year, with 3,725 incidents reported from January 1 to May 14. Recent cases, like a serious injury near Highland and Faxton Avenue, highlight the growing concern. Police continue investigating suspects, often elusive, while citizens express frustration and fear. Insurance agents report delays in vehicle repairs due to high accident volume, damaged vehicles, and parts shortages. Authorities urge drivers to slow near crosswalks and avoid texting while driving, now illegal in Tennessee. Pedestrians are advised to use crosswalks and avoid crossing mid-block to enhance safety.
