Weather Impact Alert: Houston area could see heavy rain Thursday night, Friday
SUMMARY: The Houston area is expected to experience heavy rain Thursday night through Friday, with the possibility of isolated flooding in Southeast Texas. A low-pressure system will increase rain chances starting Thursday afternoon, lasting through Friday. Scattered showers and isolated storms will develop, with heavier rainfall along the coast and areas like Galveston. Rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches, especially southeast of Houston. The National Weather Service has issued flood watches for parts of Fort Bend and Brazoria Counties. By the weekend, rain chances will decrease, but isolated showers may persist. Temperatures will stay in the 80s.
Heavy rainfall is expected in the Greater Houston area by Friday night, with possible street and highway flooding.

Texas flooding: Helping and serving meals in Kerrville | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: In Kerrville, many volunteers and organizations are providing relief and comfort to families affected by recent flooding. Operation Barbecue Relief, a nationwide group started after the 2011 Joplin, Missouri tornado, is serving 600 meals today, including chicken, sausage, vegetables, and pasta. Volunteers, some traveling from as far as Pennsylvania, have come to help the community. Since the flooding began Friday morning, many residents have lacked power and hot meals for days. First responders working tirelessly on search and rescue efforts are among those benefiting from this community-driven effort to bring comfort and support to Kerrville.

Camp mystic’s owner died trying to save campers
SUMMARY: Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, suffered a catastrophic flash flood along the Guadalupe River, killing 27 campers and counselors. Among the victims was Lyla Bonner and her best friend Eloise Peck from Highland Park ISD, and 9-year-old Janie Hunt, the great-granddaughter of the camp’s owner, oil baron William Herbert Hunt. The camp’s owner died heroically trying to rescue campers during the flood. Over 700 children were at the camp; many were airlifted to safety. Survivors, like Carly McAlary, shared emotional accounts, emphasizing the tragedy’s lasting impact on families and communities still grieving and searching for missing friends.
At Camp Mystic, 27 campers and counselors died in the flash flood that swept through Hunt, Texas. Some of the girls were from North Texas. FOX 4’s Dan Godwin has the latest updates from Kerr County.
