WAD: Showers in store for Thursday morning commute ahead of chilly, wet afternoon

A cold front will bring scattered showers, intensifying between noon and 6 p.m. Rain will continue into early tomorrow but will clear up by 8 a.m. Warmer weather is expected over the weekend, with temperatures rising to the mid-60s and eventually into the 70s next week.

Thursday is a WRAL Weather Alert Day with chilly, widespread rain in store. Temperatures will be in the 40s as you wake up, so don’t forget to grab a jacket – and umbrella – before heading out the door. The morning will start off dry, with rain expected to move in around 9 a.m. and last through the evening.
