United Healthcare CEO shooting: Gunman still on the run | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: Authorities in New York City are actively searching for the shooter who killed United Healthcare CEO Andrew Witty outside a Manhattan hotel early this morning. Detectives believe the incident was a targeted attack, with surveillance footage showing the suspect waiting for Witty before ambushing him. The shooter fired multiple shots, including at Witty’s leg, and fled the scene on an e-bike into Central Park. Police are unsure of the motive behind the attack, and while they do not consider there to be a wider public threat, the suspect remains at large as a manhunt continues.
NYPD is still looking for the man who shot and killed Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO. Police are calling it a “brazen, targeted attack” that unfolded in busy Manhattan during the holiday season.
