Tuesday update on Tropical Storm Erin
SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Erin, currently with 45 mph winds and moving west at 22 mph, is expected to strengthen into a Category 3 hurricane by Sunday as it moves over warmer waters. Most forecast models, including the American GFS and European models, predict the storm will curve northward, passing east of Bermuda and away from the Carolina coast. While a few model solutions show a more westerly track toward the Bahamas or U.S. coast, the majority indicate it will stay offshore.
