Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' in the hands of the Senate | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: The US Senate returns June 3rd to address President Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax and funding overhaul, aimed for signing by July 4th. The House recently passed the bill, which extends tax cuts and reduces social spending, though the Senate faces delays from Democrats and fiscal conservatives concerned about deficits. Senators, insulated from frequent elections, are harder to persuade despite Trump’s pressure. Any Senate changes will require House approval before presidential signing. Meanwhile, Trump delays a 50% EU tariff from June 1 to July 9, seeking more negotiations. Additionally, Russia and Ukraine completed a prisoner swap amid ongoing conflict and potential new US sanctions.

President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” is now in the hands of the Senate. Also, Trump delays the 50% tariff on the European Union and President Trump is considering new sanctions against Russia.

SUMMARY: Nathan Cureton, 38, kidnapped and killed 24-year-old Tayler Maraj on Interstate 85 in Anderson County, South Carolina, before shooting himself; both died at the scene. The two had a prior relationship. Sheriff Chad McBride criticized the judicial system for allowing Cureton, with a history of violent crimes including attempted murder and kidnapping, to remain free. Danny Varat, CEO of Safe Harbor, highlighted challenges victims face leaving abusive relationships and promoted resources like Safe Harbor and the National Domestic Violence Hotline for support.

Dealing with denied health insurance claims
SUMMARY: If your health insurance denies a test, treatment, or medication your doctor recommends, don’t pay out of pocket immediately—you have the right to appeal. In 2023, nearly 20% of in-network claims and over a third of out-of-network claims on healthcare.gov were denied. First, call your insurer to check for simple errors. If denied for other reasons, request the reviewer’s explanation and file a formal appeal with your doctor’s supporting letter and documentation. Appeals can take 30 days or more, but you can request expedited review for urgent care. If denied again, insurers must explain the denial and appeal options, including independent review or legal help for Medicare claims. Always question surprise medical bills before paying.

Don’t rush to pay for treatment out of pocket. You have the right to appeal a denial.
