Just a few days into the new calendar year and severe weather could delay some Mississippi students from returning to class from the holiday break.
Nicolas Price, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Jackson said the city of Jackson is experiencing severe weather Tuesday from approximately 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“The threats are going to be damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, large hail up to a golf ball size with a possibility of tornadoes in this event,” Price said. “Although this storm… could cause damage, it is moving slower than predicted.”
