'I think I'm going to remember it forever': Pleasant Grove teacher goes extra mile for student

Victim's Family Speaks Out for the First Time | May 14, 2025 | News 19 at 6 p.m.
SUMMARY: On January 7, 2023, a mass shooting at a birthday party claimed the lives of 20-year-olds Quotation Grant and Kaitlyn Jennings Jenkins. Today, Kaitlyn’s family attended the status hearing for Ashton Elliott, 23, one of five men charged with murder. Kaitlyn’s mother and sister traveled four hours to keep her legacy alive, recalling the sudden silence from Kaitlyn after moving to a new dorm. The hearing revealed over 200 rounds were fired, with prosecution awaiting more evidence. The hearing was postponed 90 days. Elliott’s defense requested removal of his ankle monitor, which the judge denied.

One of the five men charged with murder in the case appeared in court today.
