The Lewis Lights to Shine for 35th Year
SUMMARY: The Lewis Lights in Purvis, Mississippi, a walk-through holiday display with over 200,000 lights and handmade decorations, was started in 1989 by Evelyn Lewis. Barbara Lewis, the family matriarch, was also instrumental, creating a custom electrical grid and repairing lights until her passing in September 2021. Now, her daughter Deborah and other relatives maintain the tradition. The display, which also offers hot chocolate and local crafts, is a fixture for visitors, opening this season on Thanksgiving Day and remaining lit until December 31. Admission is free with donations accepted. More info can be found on their Facebook page.
