Man caught stealing $3K worth of fireworks from stand
SUMMARY: A family-owned fireworks stand near Northwest 190th and Portland was targeted by a thief, resulting in over $3,000 in losses. The Koch family, who has operated the business for six years and involves their children in daily operations, discovered a man breaking in early Thursday morning. Security cameras captured the suspect forcing entry with a crowbar and stealing fireworks, causing significant damage by removing the door from its hinges. The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help to identify the man and his truck. Despite the setback, the family remains hopeful and forgiving, emphasizing their commitment to moving forward.

SGA wears Yukon teacher’s Canadian flag during parade
SUMMARY: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder MVP, famously wore a Canadian flag around his waist during the Thunder’s championship parade, a flag that once hung in Yukon High School government teacher Alex Shirley’s classroom. Shirley, born and raised in Oklahoma City, was amazed that his Canadian flag became part of such an iconic moment in the city’s history. The flag, originally a souvenir from a trip abroad, was requested urgently after the Thunder’s victory and ended up symbolizing a monumental celebration in a place once marked by tragedy. Shirley hopes this experience becomes a teaching moment for his students about community pride and history.
