SUMMARY: Central and Eastern Kentucky enjoyed a warm, sunny day Wednesday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and hazy skies from Canadian wildfire smoke. However, a stormy pattern is approaching. Thursday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms with warm temperatures near 80 degrees. Friday poses a Level 2 slight risk for severe storms, including damaging winds, hail, and the potential for localized flooding from 1 to 2 inches of rain. Showers may linger Saturday, especially in the south and east, but Sunday should offer a drier, more pleasant break. Another storm system could arrive early next week before a cooler, drier trend midweek.
