State trooper dashcam video shows deadly end to 50-mile police chase
SUMMARY: Arkansas State Police dashcam footage reveals a deadly 50-mile chase on March 28 involving 36-year-old Rale Murphy of Memphis. Eleven troopers participated, with one trooper performing a tactical vehicle intervention that resulted in his cruiser rolling but no serious injuries. The pursuit ended in Kittenden County, where officers found Murphy and a 39-year-old woman in the SUV. Despite emergency efforts captured on dashcam, Murphy died the next day. He had active warrants for evading arrest and sex offender registry violations and was on probation for aggravated assault. The footage highlights three fatal pursuits by ASP in 30 days.
Arkansas State Police have not been shy about their pursuit policy. In March, Col. Mike Hagar told the public his troopers have been instructed to put drivers who attempt to flee “in a ditch.”
After those remarks, the agency had three fatal crashes in the weeks that followed. Col. Hagar stood by his statements when FOX13 Investigates sat down with him in April.
In dashcam video obtained by FOX13 Investigates, one of those fatal crashes from March is shown from beginning to end. The records show more than 10 troopers involved, either in the pursuit or in the aftermath of the crash. Burlington opening 60 new stores in 26 states, including TN: Here's where
SUMMARY: In contrast to many store closures this year, Burlington, an off-price retailer with over 1,100 U.S. locations, is expanding aggressively. It plans to open 60 new stores across 26 states and Puerto Rico by October, including in Tennessee and Kentucky. Burlington’s strategy includes smaller format stores, occupying several former retail sites abandoned by bankrupt chains like Big Lots, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Party City. This expansion reflects Burlington’s long-term goal to reach 2,000 stores. New locations are set for grand openings throughout September and October, with job opportunities available for these stores online.
