St. Louis-based Rawlings contributes to MLB All-Star Game
SUMMARY: Brendan Donovan was the only St. Louis player in Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game, but St. Louis was widely represented through Rawlings, whose products—from bases, balls, bats, gloves, to helmets—were used throughout the game. Rawlings’ Washington, Missouri, facility handles finishing touches on over 1.2 million MLB baseballs yearly, sourced from Costa Rica, and prepares wooden bat billets selected for quality and performance. The facility also finishes bases for MLB and minor leagues. Rawlings, founded in St. Louis in 1887 and headquartered nearby, maintains a strong local legacy tied emotionally to baseball fans nationwide.

Kyle Schwarber’s 3 homers in All-Star Game’s first tiebreaking swing-off lift NL over AL
SUMMARY: Kyle Schwarber, despite nerves, hit three home runs in the first-ever All-Star Game swing-off, helping the National League win 7-6 after a 6-6 tie with the American League. Schwarber, who didn’t get a hit during the game but earned MVP, overcame a two-homer deficit in the swing-off, which MLB introduced in 2022 to address pitcher usage limits. The NL’s victory came after a late AL comeback erased a six-run deficit. The new swing-off format, similar to a soccer shootout, had each side’s batters take three swings each. The game also featured fast pitching, a robot umpire debut, and a return to regular-season jerseys.
