This event highlights the community’s commitment to veterans, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles. Participants, including veteran Jose Moreno, carried weights and flags to symbolize the burdens veterans face after service. The race fostered camaraderie reminiscent of military service. Organizers stress the importance of ongoing support for veterans, as their challenges continue even after leaving the battlefield.

Additional proposals include mandatory emergency evacuation plans for camps, emergency management coordinator training, a volunteer credential system, and a mass fatality data management system.
