SpaceX launches another Starship rocket
SUMMARY: SpaceX successfully launched its ninth Starship flight, featuring a Super Heavy booster flying for the second time. After ignition of all 33 Raptor engines, the vehicle ascended, reaching max aerodynamic pressure and performing hot staging with six engines igniting on the Starship for continued ascent. The booster executed the first-ever directional flip for landing but was not recovered, intentionally sent for a high angle of attack re-entry test and engine experiments over the Gulf, ultimately ending in splashdown. Throughout, telemetry and chamber pressures remained nominal, and Starship’s six engines operated healthily during its suborbital trajectory, marking significant data collection and milestone achievements.
SpaceX launched its 403-foot Starship rocket Tuesday evening from its Starbase site in southern Texas in the ninth test of the massive vehicle. It reached space but failed key mission goals before breaking apart. A payload door failed, the booster disintegrated, and fuel issues caused the spacecraft to spin out before crashing into the Indian Ocean.

UN food agency says Israeli tanks and snipers opened fire on a crowd seeking aid in Gaza
SUMMARY: The U.N. World Food Program (WFP) accused Israel of using tanks, snipers, and gunfire against Palestinians seeking food aid in northern Gaza, resulting in at least 80 deaths—one of the deadliest aid-related incidents in over 21 months of conflict. The Gaza Health Ministry, citing over 58,800 Palestinian deaths since the war began October 2023, blamed Israel for the violence, while Israel denied the death toll and claimed it fired warning shots at an immediate threat. Ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas continue without progress. Meanwhile, Israeli strikes also targeted Yemen’s Hodeidah port, accusing Iran-backed Houthis of supporting Palestinian militants.
