Judge Stephanie Ray’s unanimous panel cited the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 Bruen decision, emphasizing historical protections for open carry and rejecting the ban’s constitutionality. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier supported the ruling. This decision reverses a 2017 Florida Supreme Court ruling and could make Florida the latest state to allow open carry, pending possible further appeals.
