South Florida 6:30 p.m. Weather Forecast 11/10/2024
SUMMARY: The weather forecast indicates a mix of showers around Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach County, particularly early this evening. Tomorrow, expect warm temperatures in the mid-70s and increased rain chances, especially as a front approaches. By Thursday and Friday, the wind will intensify and shift, bringing cooler, drier air by the weekend. Additionally, the tropics are being monitored for potential development in the Western Caribbean, but a high-pressure system should keep it at bay. Overall, temperatures will peak in the upper 80s early next week, cooling down to the low 80s by the weekend.
CBS News Miami’s NEXT Weather Meteorologist Dave Warren says to expect a few spotty showers working their way through the area on Sunday evening.

South Florida facing high heat, humidity for Saturday 06/28
SUMMARY: South Florida is facing intense heat and high humidity on Saturday, with “feels like” temperatures hitting the triple digits, especially in Broward County. Miami-Dade and Key Biscayne will be slightly cooler, but overall, the entire area will experience sweltering conditions. The sun will be strong with extreme UV levels, so sunscreen and hydration are essential. Skies are mostly clear, with only minor rain chances over the Everglades later. Atlantic conditions remain calm, and tropical activity is minimal, though a low pressure system near the Yucatan is expected to impact the U.S.-Mexico border early next week without major effects locally. The 4th of July looks perfect.

New execution methods may soon come to Florida. Here’s why
SUMMARY: Starting July 1, 2025, Florida will allow new execution methods for death row inmates under HB 903, which expands beyond lethal injection and electrocution to any method “not deemed unconstitutional.” This change arises amid nationwide shortages of lethal injection drugs, as manufacturers stop supplying drugs like pentobarbital. States such as South Carolina and Alabama have begun using firing squads and nitrogen gas for executions. Florida’s law aims to ensure executions proceed constitutionally despite drug shortages. Opponents warn the law broadly expands execution methods without specifying them, but it was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and passed despite dissent.
