Signs of heart attacks and strokes with Memorial Health System
SUMMARY: Memorial Health System emphasizes the importance of heart health and recognizing early signs of heart attacks and strokes. Dr. Antoine Rizik explains that while chest pain, shortness of breath, and cold sweats are common symptoms, women often experience atypical signs like fatigue, nausea, throat tightness, and jaw pain. Factors like smoking, diabetes, obesity, and stress increase risk. Heart disease is rare in premenopausal women but rises after menopause. Quick action is critical—patients have about three hours to seek treatment for heart or brain recovery. Calling 911 immediately can be lifesaving. Early detection and fast response are essential for survival.

Memorial Health System is offering life-saving advice on how to protect your heart, especially when it comes to recognizing the signs of a heart attack.
