Showers and storms return for Thursday
SUMMARY: Wednesday brought a mix of clouds and filtered sunshine across Central and Eastern Kentucky, with temperatures reaching the low 70s. However, rain and storm chances return Thursday as a low-pressure system and cold front trigger showers and thunderstorms, particularly in Southern Kentucky, where there’s a Level 2 severe risk. Friday will bring drier conditions and sunshine, with temperatures in the upper 60s. The weekend weather is uncertain, but Saturday looks dry, with a slight chance of rain on Mother’s Day. Early next week may see more rain as an upper-level low brings scattered storms, with highs reaching into the 70s.

Rounds of showers and storms on Monday
SUMMARY: Showers and storms are expected Monday and Tuesday in Tennessee, with scattered rainfall likely throughout the days. While severe weather is not anticipated, intense downpours could cause localized flash flooding due to heavy rain possibly exceeding 1 to 2 inches in about half an hour. This comes from an upper-level low-pressure system over Mississippi tapping Gulf moisture. Rain may start Monday morning, affecting the commute, with showers and storms continuing into the afternoon and evening. Tuesday will have a brief dry period in the morning but more storms by afternoon. The weather will dry up by Wednesday with warming temperatures later in the week.
