SUMMARY: A Tesla driver in Oklahoma was caught speeding twice within two weeks, despite previous consequences including a ticket and vehicle impoundment. The first incident involved excessive speed on I-40, where deputies recorded his excuse that he was rushing to church. Less than two weeks later, he was stopped again speeding through a construction zone near I-35 and I-240, resulting in a more expensive ticket. Authorities warned that reckless driving risks lives and urged the driver to reconsider his actions. The driver now faces serious fines, with the sheriff’s office emphasizing the danger and cost of repeated violations.

Hospital association president paints dire picture if Medicaid cuts pass

Published

on

www.youtube.com – KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4 – 2025-05-26 22:22:46

SUMMARY: Oklahoma’s rural hospitals face severe cuts or closures due to proposed federal Medicaid reductions, warns Oklahoma Hospital Association President Rich Rasmussen. The U.S. House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding while increasing spending on immigration, military, and tax extensions. Rural hospitals, often operating at a loss, rely heavily on Medicaid programs to stay open. Oklahoma funds Medicaid through hospital taxes matched by federal dollars, but the bill restricts raising hospital tax rates to offset funding losses. Without flexibility, rural hospitals may eliminate services like obstetrics or shut down, devastating communities economically and medically. Rasmussen hopes the Senate allows a grace period for tax adjustments.
