‘Russiagate’ investigation unfolds as Vance predicts Obama officials could be indicted for collusion
SUMMARY: A grand jury investigation is underway into the origins of the Russia collusion probe, with predictions of indictments against former Obama officials. Trump officials accuse past intelligence members of legal violations and bias favoring Hillary Clinton, while documents released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard name figures like Susan Rice and James Comey as part of a conspiracy against Trump. Former officials deny politicizing intelligence or assessing collusion. Experts highlight potential legal risks if officials lied to Congress and note the five-year statute of limitations as a key factor in the Justice Department’s case.
On links between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia, current Trump officials are once again accusing former members of the intelligence community of “aggressive violations of the law.”
In an interview that aired Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Vice President JD Vance said, “They would take something that supported a Hillary Clinton campaign talking point, and they would overemphasize it and exaggerate it. They took anything that actually contradicted that narrative, and they buried it deep,” he said. He added, “and through that they actually laundered Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign talking points through the American intelligence services. That’s a violation of the people’s trust. That’s a violation of what our intelligence services should be doing, and I absolutely think they broke the law. You’re going to see a lot of People get indicted for that.”

Wall Street climbs again as a worldwide rally comes back around
SUMMARY: U.S. stocks rose on Wednesday, driven by hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in September following better-than-expected inflation data. The S&P 500 gained 0.4%, the Dow Jones added 259 points, and the Nasdaq also hit new highs. Asian markets surged, with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng up 2.6%, while European markets rose modestly. Treasury yields fell as investors anticipated rate cuts. Strong earnings from Brinker International and a HanesBrands acquisition boosted stocks. However, grocery stores dropped after Amazon expanded same-day fresh grocery delivery. Concerns remain that rate cuts could worsen inflation, with key inflation data due Thursday.

Wall Street flirts with its records on hopes for coming cuts to interest rates
SUMMARY: On July 29, 2025, the U.S. stock market neared record highs as July inflation data showed a 2.7% year-over-year increase, slightly below expectations. The S&P 500 rose 0.6%, the Dow gained 1%, and the Nasdaq was up 0.5%. This fueled optimism for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in September to support economic growth, despite inflation risks from tariffs. The Fed remains cautious, balancing inflation control with job market health. Internationally, Australia cut rates again, and Asian markets reacted to tariff delays with mixed moves. Key stocks showed volatility amid mixed earnings and economic forecasts.
