Rumors swirl of Elon Musk’s Boring Co. eyeing Orlando tunnel along I-Drive
SUMMARY: Rumors suggest Elon Musk’s Boring Company may develop an underground tunnel along Orlando’s International Drive (I-Drive), similar to the Las Vegas Loop that opened in 2021. The proposed tunnel would connect Universal Studios with key I-Drive destinations like the convention center and potentially a future Brightline station. Local leaders and business executives, including I-Drive Business executive Joshua Wallach, are excited by the idea, seeing it as innovative and fitting for the tech-savvy tourist district. While nothing is confirmed, Orange County officials are monitoring developments, awaiting responses from Universal and The Boring Company. The project promises advanced, sustainable transportation with a “pizzazz.”
Buzz is building along Orlando’s International Drive over speculation that billionaire Elon Musk’s Boring Company could bring a Las Vegas-style underground transportation system to the heart of the city’s tourist district.

Kemp endorses Derek Dooley for Georgia Senate seat and says an outsider can beat Democrat Jon Ossoff
SUMMARY: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp endorsed Republican Derek Dooley for the 2026 U.S. Senate race, positioning Dooley as a political outsider best suited to challenge Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff. Kemp, who decided not to run himself, supports the former Tennessee football coach despite Dooley’s limited political experience and past voting absences in key elections. Dooley’s campaign focuses on opposing Ossoff’s ties to President Biden and backing Donald Trump, though Trump has yet to endorse. Other GOP contenders like Mike Collins criticize Dooley’s lack of Republican credentials and Georgia residency. Kemp’s endorsement intensifies the competitive GOP primary ahead of the general election.

‘Defacing sidewalk prohibited:’ New signs at Pulse, 1 arrested as Florida steps up rainbow fight
SUMMARY: At the former Pulse Nightclub crosswalk in Orlando, Florida, protests using chalk have continued since the FDOT removed the rainbow crosswalk honoring Pulse shooting victims, following a federal directive to remove non-safety-related road art. Recently, new signs were posted prohibiting chalking on the sidewalk as well as the road. A man, Orestes Suarez, was arrested for leaving chalk footprints on the street. FDOT states its responsibility is to ensure roadways remain free of social or political markings to maintain safety and uniformity. Activists accuse the state of targeting the Pulse memorial unfairly, while authorities emphasize traffic safety concerns.

3 dead after mob sets fire to Indonesian regional parliament building
SUMMARY: Protests erupted across Indonesia over a controversial housing allowance for lawmakers, sparking violent clashes and fires. In Makassar, an angry mob set the provincial parliament building ablaze, killing three and injuring five. Similar unrest occurred in Bandung and Surabaya, with police using tear gas and water cannons to disperse demonstrators. The unrest intensified after the death of 21-year-old delivery driver Affan Kurniawan, allegedly hit by a police armored vehicle during a Jakarta rally. Thousands were arrested nationwide, with Amnesty International condemning the government’s crackdown on free speech. Authorities have detained seven police officers linked to Kurniawan’s death.
