Quick break from the daily storm chances
SUMMARY: After weeks of heavy rain and unsettled weather, Tuesday brought a break across central and eastern Kentucky with drier air, lower humidity, and temperatures in the upper 80s, near normal for late July. Midweek will heat up with highs in the low 90s and humidity increasing, pushing heat index values near 100°F. Overnight lows will remain muggy in the upper 60s to low 70s. A stray shower can’t be ruled out Thursday afternoon, but most will stay dry. By Friday and into the weekend, scattered storms return as a stalled boundary interacts with hot, humid air, but no widespread washouts are expected.
