Authorities encourage safe driving on Super Bowl Sunday
SUMMARY: The 59th annual Super Bowl is this Sunday, and Jackson city officials are urging drivers to prioritize safety. With increased celebrations, law enforcement will be enforcing DUI checkpoints and discouraging distracted or impaired driving. The Mississippi Department of Transportation stresses the importance of keeping collisions on the field, not the roads, as alcohol-related accidents are a significant concern, with over 13,000 fatalities and alcohol-related incidents in 2022. Officials advise designating a sober driver, holding friends accountable, and driving distraction-free. The goal is to ensure everyone remains safe during Super Bowl Sunday festivities.
