Martin, M.D. (’58), with the Distinguished Medal of WKU Service, and Alice Gatewood Waddell (’74), with the Distinguished Medal of Community and Public Service at the Hilltopper Excellence Awards during WKU Homecoming 2025 on November 14. Martin, a retired physician and longtime WKU volunteer, served as a team physician and contributed to numerous WKU boards. Waddell is an acclaimed artist and executive director of the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission, known for her community-focused artwork and humanitarian efforts. The event includes alumni inductions and celebrates philanthropy; tickets are $100.
