Interview: Blue Bell brings back cookie cake flavor
SUMMARY: Blue Bell has brought back its cookie cake ice cream, a fan-favorite flavor first introduced in 2019 and absent from stores since 2020. Emanuel Williams, territory operations manager, describes it as sweet cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookie cake pieces and swirls of chocolate and vanilla icing. The flavor was the runner-up in Blue Bell’s Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament, narrowly missing the win to Groom’s Cake ice cream, which will also be available for a limited time. Cookie cake ice cream is now available in stores in half-gallon and pint sizes. Despite rising costs, Blue Bell maintains quality while working with grocers to keep prices reasonable. Emanuel’s personal favorite is the discontinued white chocolate almond flavor. He also endorses ice cream as a breakfast treat, calling it the “breakfast of champions.”

WTVA’s Avery Hilliard interviewed Emmanuel Williams with Blue Bell about the company reintroducing its cookie cake ice cream.

Tiny home project in Jackson delayed
SUMMARY: A project to build a 30-unit tiny home village on Capers Avenue in West Jackson aimed at addressing homelessness has been delayed. The Jackson Resource Center (JRC) sought \$950,000 for the development, with a total budget slightly over \$1 million, which the city council approved. Since then, JRC expanded plans to 80 units, increased costs, and made changes causing compliance issues. The city offered limited funding and grant access, but no contract has been signed. Meanwhile, \$2 million from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas remains unused, and time is running out to secure the remaining \$2.8 million needed.
