Organizers at local events not letting wet weekend weather dampen plans
SUMMARY: Rain disrupted several major events around the Triangle, including a soccer tournament at Wake Med Soccer Park, a concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater, and the grand opening of Gibson Play Plaza at Digs Park. Despite delays and evacuations due to downpours, organizers and attendees remain undeterred. Soccer players and fans embraced the rain delays as opportunities to rest and socialize, while organizers plan to continue events unless lightning occurs, requiring a 30-minute pause. Attendees are advised to stay flexible and monitor weather updates via the WRL app for the latest forecast and event status.

Storms on Saturday brought heavy rain to the Triangle, causing delays at several events, including The Soccer Tournament and the grand opening of Gipson Play Plaza at Dix Park.

Travel ban to 12 countries starts Monday at midnight | What to expect
SUMMARY: President Trump’s travel ban on 12 mainly African and Middle Eastern countries takes effect tonight at midnight. The banned countries include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. This full restriction was prompted by a recent attack in Boulder, Colorado, involving an Egyptian national and aims to improve vetting processes. Additionally, seven countries face partial restrictions due to poor vetting or intelligence sharing: Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, and Burundi. The ban resembles previous 2017 executive orders and is expected to face legal challenges.
