SUMMARY: During hurricane season, meteorologists use key terms to describe storm characteristics and behavior. The “Eye” is the calm center, while the “Eyewall” surrounds it with the strongest winds and rain. “Wind Shear” disrupts storm growth, and “Landfall” occurs when the storm reaches land. The “Eyewall Replacement Cycle” can weaken then reintensify a storm. “Storm Surge” is dangerous rising sea levels, and “Rapid Intensification” means winds increase dramatically in 24 hours. Terms like “Tropical Cyclone,” “Potential Tropical Cyclone,” and “Subtropical Storm” describe storm types. The “Saffir-Simpson Scale” ranks hurricanes from Category 1 to 5 by wind speed and damage potential. Understanding these terms aids in hurricane preparedness.

Organized by families of hostages and bereaved relatives, the protest blocked roads and closed businesses, fearing an offensive could endanger hostages believed mostly alive. Police arrested 32 protesters amid clashes. Israeli leaders are divided, with Prime Minister Netanyahu opposing deals favoring Hamas, fearing political fallout. Meanwhile, Israel launched airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen responding to missile threats. Aid deliveries of tents to Gaza resumed ahead of planned evacuations, as the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict causes massive casualties and worsening humanitarian conditions.
