One year later: Grayson Murray’s family honors pro golfer’s legacy
SUMMARY: Pro golfer Grayson Murray, a Raleigh native, died by suicide at 30 after openly struggling with addiction and depression. One year later, his family honors his legacy with an honorary tee time at Raleigh Country Club and by founding a foundation in his name to support others battling mental illness. His parents emphasize the importance of talking about depression like any disease, aiming for early treatment. Since his passing, many have shared how Grayson inspired them, even in his darkest moments. The family plans a fall golf tournament, the Grayson Murray Classic, to raise funds and promote kindness.

The parents of golfer Grayson Murray, who passed away last year, honored him at the UNC Health Championship with a ceremonial tee time.

Rubio in talks for return of wrongly deported ‘Cristian,’ in flip for Trump administration
SUMMARY: On May 21, 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio testified before Congress and is personally working to secure the return of “Cristian,” a man wrongly deported to El Salvador’s brutal CECOT prison, according to Trump administration court filings. This effort marks a rare reversal of the administration’s stance that El Salvador, not the U.S., holds custody over deportees sent there. The Trump-appointed judge criticized the administration’s lack of compliance with her orders to facilitate Cristian’s return. Rubio’s longstanding ties with El Salvador aid negotiation efforts. Meanwhile, another deportee, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, remains detained despite a Supreme Court order for his return.
