OXFORD — A relatively quiet offseason on Lane Kiffin’s coaching staff is quiet no longer.
Ole Miss is hiring Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding to fill the same role in Oxford, according to a report Friday from ESPN’s Chris Low. Golding had served as a defensive play-caller for Nick Saban since 2018.
After winning the national championship with the SEC’s top-scoring defense in 2020, Alabama has finished with the third- and second-ranked defense in the conference over the past two seasons.
