Oldham County drive-in movie theater details possible relocation, future plans
SUMMARY: The owner of the Sauerbeck Family Drive-In Theater in Oldham County is considering relocating if the property is sold for a new data center. Western Hospitality Partners withdrew a \$6 billion data center application for another site and submitted a new, smaller plan for the drive-in location. The owner, Steven Sauerbeck, hopes to move within Oldham County, upgrading facilities with two screens, laser projections, and a revamped concession stand. Community opinions are mixed; some support the smaller, business-area data center, while others oppose it. The drive-in will continue operating through the 2025 season regardless of the sale.
