Crews are replacing rotten boards and handrails as part of regular maintenance by the city’s ports and harbor department.

The enforcement period ran from Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 1.

Currently, only one tropical wave in the East Atlantic may develop into the next named storm, Gabrielle, likely tracking toward the central Atlantic. Locally, skies are partly cloudy with some lower clouds thickening this afternoon, possibly causing stray showers near the Louisiana state line. Tonight will clear to mostly clear with lows near 70°. Wednesday brings a brief chance of showers from a passing shortwave, but drier air returns Thursday with sunshine and cooler temperatures in the upper 80s. Rain chances increase again by the weekend.
