Mississippi ending 15 months free rent and utility payments
Governor Tate Reeves announced that the state is ending a federal program that incentivizes people to stay out of the work force, offering up to 15 months of free rent and utility bill payments.
Today’s announcement only applies to applications that have not been submitted yet. It has no effect on applications already in the system.
The Mississippi Home Corporation will stop accepting applications to the program starting August 15th.
Governor Reeves said the state is in the best fiscal and financial shape in its history and there are jobs for anyone who wants to work….

Puppies with a Purpose: MSU students nurture, raise future guide dogs
