Millsaps football are turning things around

SUMMARY: The Millsaps Majors are experiencing a resurgence this season under new head coach Brandon Lechtenberg, achieving their best record since 2019 with five victories. The team credits Lechtenberg’s instant impact and familiar connection, having previously been part of the coaching staff from 2011 to 2016. Lechtenberg emphasizes the fun and bonding within the coaching staff, confident in their competitive potential. The seniors, who have faced challenges in the past, are proud to leave the program on a high note, believing they have contributed to a foundational change for future successes.

The Millsaps Majors finished the 2024 season with 5 wins which is the most they have had since 2019. New head coach Brandon Lechtenberg has returned to the program to bring back to a championship level and in his first year as a head coach it’s evident that the Majors are on their way. This segment was from Blitz 4th and Goal which airs 10:30am on Saturday mornings preview the college football matchups for the week.

Safe Haven Baby Box opens in Gluckstadt

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, the city of Gluckstadt unveiled a new Safe Haven Baby Box in the parking lot of its new Police Station and Municipal Court. Funded by CPS Pools and Spas and community donors, the baby box offers a safe way for individuals to surrender infants anonymously, removing shame and blame. Mayor and residents expressed gratitude, citing the box as a vital alternative to save lives. Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, creator of the Mississippi Access to Maternal Assistance app, praised the growing number of baby boxes statewide, now totaling six. Gluckstadt became a city in 2021 and recently opened its first dedicated police building. Police Chief Hale noted they have 20 officers with new facilities including a dispatch center and courtroom.
