MGCCC partners with American Red Cross to save lives
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier and the American Red Cross partnered together to host a blood drive and health fair.
Students and community members were able to give blood and receive information on resources to improve their health, wellness, and overall well-being.
On campus club organizations were set up to give students an opportunity to learn about the club and join. Guests at the health fair also got to enjoy healthy snacks and smoothies. MGCCC Freshman Class President Breland Graves said, “It’s important to give blood that way we can help…

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting. James, 53, remains at large and is wanted for murder and other charges. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Gulfport Police or Crime Stoppers.
