Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen: “Fog Horn” 10PM Forecast

Published

SUMMARY: The Weather Authority provides an evening weather update with a view of Bay St Louis from the HL Raymond properties Tower camera. The weather is stable and tranquil, but patterns are expected to change throughout the week, with increased cloud cover and fog forming overnight. Overnight lows will be around 62-63°F with dense fog likely in the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Southern Louisiana. Humidity levels are high, increasing the likelihood of fog formation. The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Mississippi and Louisiana, warning of visibility below 100 ft in some areas. A frontal system arriving on Friday will bring much-needed rainfall.

Wednesday November 8th, 2023: High pressure continues to sit to the east of Mississippi,
allowing for gradual moisture return and dew point temperatures
that increased statewide. A broad surface trough of low pressure
moving through the Midwest has slightly tightened the pressure gradient,
which is why our daytime wind speeds increased to 15-20 mph but they
are already decreasing as the trough quickly departs and the gradient
weakens tonight. Despite the morning fog and upper-level cirrus, Daytime
highs reached the low to mid 80s from the coast moving north in our area.
The National Weather Service once again has focused tonight on a recently
familiar hazard, because it’s basically the only big problem tonight.
That problem is patchy dense fog and straight up dense fog across the coast.

www.youtube.com – WLOX News – 2025-06-15 21:39:05

SUMMARY: Scattered showers and storms continued across South Mississippi over Father’s Day weekend and are expected to persist into Monday and Tuesday. A waterspout came ashore near Gulfport and Long Beach, quickly dissipating. While rain chances taper off overnight, daytime heating will fuel more storms early this week, with possible localized flooding due to saturated ground. A pattern shift later in the week will reduce storm coverage but increase temperatures. Highs will reach the low 90s on the coast and mid-90s inland by the weekend. Despite the heat, the tropics remain quiet with no development expected over the next seven days.

Meteorologist Taylor Graham has the latest on this week’s chances for rain and the upcoming forecast.

No tropical activity is expected in the Gulf or Atlantic over the next seven days.
