SUMMARY: A man in Dalton allegedly killed his wife at her apartment after co-workers reported she hadn’t shown up for days. Police found her dead with a gunshot wound. Surveillance showed the suspect leaving her apartment, and officers tracked his vehicle to another location three miles away. There, the father of the second victim discovered his daughter and the suspect dead, both apparently shot. Investigators believe the man also killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself, resulting in three deaths. Identities have not been released. The case remains under investigation.

Dalton police are investigating an alleged double-murder and suicide. Officials say a man shot his wife before getting in the car and traveling to an apartment to kill his girlfriend, then turn the gun on himself.

Dealing with denied health insurance claims

Published

on

www.youtube.com – 11Alive – 2025-05-28 00:19:08

SUMMARY: If your health insurance denies a test, treatment, or medication your doctor recommends, don’t pay out of pocket immediately—you have the right to appeal. In 2023, nearly 20% of in-network claims and over a third of out-of-network claims on healthcare.gov were denied. First, call your insurer to check for simple errors. If denied for other reasons, request the reviewer’s explanation and file a formal appeal with your doctor’s supporting letter and documentation. Appeals can take 30 days or more, but you can request expedited review for urgent care. If denied again, insurers must explain the denial and appeal options, including independent review or legal help for Medicare claims. Always question surprise medical bills before paying.

Don’t rush to pay for treatment out of pocket. You have the right to appeal a denial.

The Big Mac was nearly called something entirely different

Published

on

www.wsav.com – Addy Bink – 2025-05-27 23:03:00

SUMMARY: The Big Mac, introduced by McDonald’s franchisee Jim Delligatti in 1967, quickly became an iconic menu item nationwide. Inspired by competitor burgers like the Big Boy, it almost had names like “Blue Ribbon Burger” or “The Aristocrat.” The name “Big Mac” was suggested by 21-year-old secretary Esther Glickstein Rose, whose contribution was only recognized 17 years later. Originally priced at 45 cents (about \$4.40 today), the Big Mac has remained largely unchanged, with some spinoffs like the Chicken Big Mac. McDonald’s sells approximately 550 million Big Macs annually, celebrated on International Big Mac Day, August 2.
