Louisiana Living: Fyzical Therapy Thursday
SUMMARY: Angela Yarboro and Dr. Jerry Yaro from Physical Therapy and Balance Centers discuss the importance of balance rehabilitation, sharing their personal experiences. Dr. Yaro recounts his struggle with viral meningitis, which severely affected his balance, leading him to research and develop therapeutic methods. This experience motivated them to specialize in balance and vestibular rehabilitation, differentiating their clinic with innovative equipment. In September, during National Fall Awareness Month, they offer free fall screenings to help those experiencing balance issues understand potential treatments. They encourage anyone with related concerns to make an appointment to determine possible assistance.

Sunny, dry, and warm
SUMMARY: Southeastern Louisiana is enjoying a beautiful, sunny day thanks to a building area of high pressure. Currently, there are no clouds or rain in sight, with temperatures reaching a high of 84 degrees in New Orleans and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s overnight. Tomorrow, expect more sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. A cold front will approach on Monday, bringing cooler conditions and potentially increased breezes as it passes through on Tuesday. The tropics remain quiet, with only a system near the Cape Verde Islands showing a low 20% chance of development.

5 years after Hard Rock collapse, recovery still in progress
SUMMARY: Five years ago, a tragedy struck in New Orleans when the partially built Hard Rock Hotel collapsed, claiming three lives and injuring over 30 others. The area remained scarred for years, with nearby businesses struggling to recover. The building was finally demolished in 2021, leaving a fenced-off empty site. While some local venues have reopened, such as the Sanger Theater and Ruby Slipper Cafรฉ, others have not returned, and navigation remains difficult in the vicinity. Although there are signs of slow recovery, families of the victims continue to grieve. City officials express solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.
As Rachel Handley shows us, it looks very different now, but there are still scars.
